Feature 1

Wine aged in used Tequila barrels? A pairing as mischievous and unconventional as Recreation Center ceramics.

Recreation Center Founder Josephine Heilpern collaborated with the experimental winemaking team at Cooper & Thief Cellarmasters to create a customized drinking set inspired by the art of craftsmanship and Cooper & Thief’s Tequila Barrel Aged Sauvignon Blanc. The limited-edition set evokes classical Mexican Talavera-style “Tequilero” serving ceramics with a modern twist, perfect for showcasing the unique tasting notes of this nontraditional wine.

Feature 2

The signature Recreation Center design features on each set, which includes a wine carafe and two drinking cups. Carafe and cups are wheel thrown, with exterior decorated in high gloss yellow glaze, leaving shapes unglazed to reveal raw speckled clay. Interiors are wine safe (of course!) and glazed in high gloss white with black speckles, to showcase the Cooper & Thief Sauvignon Blanc’s straw yellow color. All pieces are hand-made, telling their own distinctive story behind the unique journey from potter’s wheel to kiln, with slight variations in size, finish and color.

Feature 3
